Typhonium
Kununurra based band Typhonium is made up of 5-6 people who originally got together 3 years ago for fun jam sessions, that morphed into a group with a strong passion for playing music and performing live.
The name Typhonium came about when lead singer, Tommy (an agronomist) was in the field looking for a rare plant to catalogue, its presence only recently discovered here and thought to be native to the East Kimberley. As one person said: Great name, it suits your band, local, rare and highly sought after. Typhonium's music spans the 60s to present with an eclectic range of songs that everyone knows, loves and enjoys dancing to. |

Virjilla Joyce
Virjilla Joyce was first discovered by two people – her Mum and a nun! Perhaps it was her Mum, the Filipino karaoke queen or the countless choir practices, church, solos and school performances back in her seaside country home town of Eden, that prepared her for audiences all over the world.
From the age of 5, Virjilla was destined for the spotlight having used an extension cord as her first microphone and growing up with the likes of Troy Cassar-Daly, Slim Dusty, Kasey Chambers bursting from her Father's ute radio. In 2016, Virjilla spent 7 months overseas on the real grind, using her voice and guitar in exchange for food, accommodation and adventure. Her wanderlust took her to events such as the CMA County Musical Festival in Nashville, Tennessee which is where her desire to be a country music artist was fuelled with inspiration to create more music. This sojourn was the spark that gave Virjilla her confidence to perform in front of bigger audiences, including the infamous Tootsie's Orchard Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. |
